About this Course

In Regatta Ready camps paddlers will expand on their knowledge of introductory canoe and kayak techniques, and will be introduced to the basic skills required to compete in sprint canoe and kayak racing. These new skills will help prepare participants to race at an option regatta in Maple Ridge on July 29th. Regatta Ready courses will focus on water safety, paddling techniques in singles, doubles, and fours, racing rules, and care of equipment. This program will help foster the values of fair-play, teamwork, self-confidence, leadership, and healthy lifestyle. Paddlers need to bring water, snacks, lunch, sunscreen, towels, bathing suit, change of clothes, and a hat.
